An early Victorian double portrait of a gentlewoman and her husband.
Digital painting using Intuos tablet and Photoshop. Roughly based on a couple of actual portraits, though the gender role reversal is mine, of course.
(And before people ask, yes, it's the woman on the left, the man on the right. If you can't tell, I've failed!)

I wouldn't think it's the fact that you failed, if people can't tell between the two, but that the person who can't tell know some very ugly women/pretty me.
